In response, Aida Cruises implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols, isolated affected individuals, and collected stool samples for testing. The cruise line also consulted with CDC Vessel Sanitation Program officials to ensure proper sanitation procedures.
Dr. Scott Weisenberg, an infectious disease expert, emphasizes the highly contagious nature of norovirus. He advises those experiencing acute vomiting to avoid public areas, as the virus can spread through the air.
